Career Assessment Well Received – The Student Centre has launched and integrated a new career assessment service for clients. The career assessment will be offered as part of CUP Memberships to improve the college and university prep process for students. In keeping with the fundamental believe that higher education should career sense, the career assessment is seen as critical to assisting students get better centered when it comes to deciding on a career study path. The career assessment tool has been met with great feedback with many indicating that it helped them to better decide on their study plans.

Common Application Essay Prompts – students submitting applications via the US based common application system for the 2021-2022 period will be subject to a slight change in the essay options. In a February 2021 announcement, the long-standing essay option on problem solving will be removed. The new essay option replacement will focusing on themes such has human kindness and gratitude. Additionally, the optional question on COVID-19 will remain the additional information section. For more information click here.

Brock University launches Forensic Psychology and Criminal Justice program. From Fall 2021 will see the first cohort of students in the Bachelor of Arts in Forensic Psychology and Criminal Justice program at Brock University. Students have the option to pursue the program as a B.A major or an honours program. The program has developed to provide students with a more rounded and transdisciplinary view of the subject matter. Students will be exposed to disciplines such as forensics, sociology, law, disabilities studies and criminal justice etc.

Humber College opens new International Graduate School in Downton Toronto – This January saw the opening of Humber College’s newest campus in Downtown Toronto. The college’s International Graduate School will deliver a number of post-graduate certificate programs to approximately 160 students from the start. Students will greatly benefit from being located in Canada’s financial capital which can open opportunities to co-op and internship opportunities. For more information click here.
